Restorative Yoga for Stress

Yoga is a Sanskrit word from India that means to unite. There are many styles of yoga but restorative yoga forms the basis to teach the body to embrace relaxation. Relaxation enables a person to unite mind, body and spirit to experience tranquility.


Restorative yoga poses help when you feel week, fatigued or stressed from your daily grind. These different poses help your body in 4 ways:


1) The use of props (Blocks, Bolsters, etc) support the body as it learns to relax.


2) Each sequence moves the spine in all directions through back bends, forward bends and gentle twisting. A healthy spine is vital for your overall well being.


3) Counters the effects of gravity through inverted poses.


4) Stimulates the organs by increasing blood flow to increase oxygen and transfer waste from the cells.
